Money saving life hack for photographers

Photographer friends! Here's a money saving life hack that has saved me so much money!

First, a disclaimer: I honestly try my best to support local in store businesses as much as I can, but this one is a life hack that's just too good to pass up! If you guys are planning on buying new gear, B&H has a "credit card" that you can sign up for called Payboo (yes, I think the name is hilarious and weird also) and it's pretty rad. When you sign up and pay with it, they still charge and collect whatever your sales tax is where it's being shipped and send that money to the state, so you don't have to report it in your quarterly / monthly / annual state sales tax filings. Here's the rad part, they literally give you the sales tax amount as an actual discount, so after the tax is added to your purchase they discount your order for the exact amount of the tax, so you effectively don't pay any sales tax at all! This is a way to actually buy brand new gear and get a discount every single time you buy it. Here's the ever so slight catch, and it's honestly not even a catch if you fall into the right category; they charge a 29.99 APR on the purchase. Here's the trick, as long as you pay the balance in full before the end of the first billing cycle, you don't accrue a single penny of interest. So you truly only want to do this if you're effectively paying cash for whatever you buy. The amazing part is that you not only get a discount, but it's also going to be something similar to “net 45” for terms (if you don't know what that means, that means you effectively have around like 45 days until to actually have to make a payment. I've had it for about a year and a half and it's been the best choice ever to make and I've already saved over a thousand dollars on gear upgrades. Happy shopping!
